The Ramadan commerce playbook

Dean Al Rashid · May 2026 · 8 min read

Every rhythm your business relies on inverts for a month: shopping moves to night, decisions slow before iftar and surge after, and tone matters more than any other time of year.

The hours shift is the big one. Enquiry volume between 9pm and 2am triples. If your response coverage ends at 6pm, you are closed during your customers’ busiest window — for a month.
Tone carries more weight, too. Warm greetings on first contact, restraint on hard-sell language, and patience with slow replies all pay off — conversations stretch across days in Ramadan, and that’s normal, not cold.
Offers change shape as well: bundles for gatherings outperform individual discounts, and Eid gifting starts in the last ten days. Ramadan doesn’t reduce demand — it reschedules it, and rewards whoever adapts first.
